The top-of-the-table clash between Ahmedabad Defenders and Calicut Heroes

Ahmedabad Defenders and Calicut Heroes are on a three-match winning run in the league

The Ahmedabad Defenders are gradually becoming a force in the Prime Volleyball League (PVL) 2023. The Defenders have quietly collected four points through two games, and fans are beginning to view Ahmedabad as legitimate title contenders thanks to the team’s ability to recover from any deficit.

However, the Calicut Heroes are considered heavy favorites after their dramatic last-minute victory over the defending champions Kolkata Thunderbolts at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium earlier this week. Jerome Vinith claims that his team’s win was a huge morale booster after they handed the Thunderbolts their first loss of the year.

The victory over Kolkata gave us the confidence to take on any opponent. Calicut Heroes attacker Jerome Vinith said that his team’s players were “definitely feeling more energetic” and that they planned to “get a good win” in their remaining games.

As for the Ahmedabad team, Jerome was effusive in his praise, saying that his team had improved since their previous meeting with them.

Because they have kept their core together, we are familiar with Ahmedabad Defenders’ style of play. We lost to them last year, so we know they’re a good team. To that end, we have gleaned wisdom from their experience. As fighters, they always stay caught up the pack. ” We need to put in a lot of work in advance,” he said.

Star player Angamuthu of Ahmedabad thinks that a streak of games will be good for the team because it will help them keep their cool and momentum. The Ahmedabad Defenders defeated the Chennai Blitz on Saturday and will play the Calicut Heroes on Sunday.

“No, it’s not a big deal to play consecutive matches. A quick turnaround between matches will help us maintain our winning streak, Angamuthu said.

When asked about Ahmedabad’s game plan for facing Calicut, Angamuthu played his cards close to the vest. We need to make a strategy for that. We know that Calicut is an accomplished squad and are adjusting accordingly. However, I think we all know that we need to do everything in our power to win this competition,” he concluded.
